Description

YOU WILL NEED:
colored fabric (the color your character has)
fleece fabric (for the inside)
black pleather fabric
cardstock
flipflops (any shoes would work, these are just cheap :P)
thread
scissors
hot glue gun
glue sticks (I went through about 10-15 sticks)
velcrow
pattern paper
measuring tape
pins

STEP1- Draw your pattern out and cut fabric. You will need to do 2 of each pattern since you will have 2 boots. You will cut your fleece and regular fabric (pleather is for later).

STEP2- Sew. Sew the fleece to the colored fabric. Leave one side of each piece open!!!

STEP3- Top stitch. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP. If you do not know how to top stitch, it is simply stitching ON TOP of your fabric after you had turn in right side out. This will give the effect of the thicker lining around the edges.

STEP4- (I just included another top stitching photo of the pieces)

STEP5- Insert the card stock into those sides you left open. This will keep your boots from collapsing. (And it makes the rest of the processes easier.)

STEP6- Get your flipflops (or whatever shoe you are using) and cut a piece of cardstock about 1 inch by however long your shoe heel area is (as shown in picture).

STEP7- Get your hot glue out and glue the back piece to the cardstock on the flipflop.

STEP8- Cut a half circle out of the pleather fabric. Hot glue this onto the toe area of the fipfop.

STEP9- Cut 20 1"x6" pleather fabric strips (10 strips per boot). Fold one side down and glue <(you can sew this step, but hot glueing is quicker and easier and it holds just as well.) Layer them on the toe of your shoe as shown, glueing each layer as you go.

STEP10- Glue the top of shoe piece to the tongue piece. You will either need to stuff some paper bags in the shoe, or wear the shoe for this step. Glue the sides of the "top of shoe" piece to the sides of the flipflip as shown.

STEP11- Cut 2 more half circles out of the pleather fabric. Sew and topstitch. This will be your outer heel part of the boot. Hot glue this on.

STEP12- Measure the circumference of the bottom of your fliflop. Cut a piece of pleather that lenth by about 2 inches wide. Fold the edge down and glue. Wrap this piece around the entire boot.

STEP 13- Glue the access pleather to the bottom of the boot.

STEP14- Sew on your straps and velcrow.

AND YOU'RE FINISHED!!!

I hope this tutorial helps! If you have questions, just ask.
